Mr, Ward is a 2008 Graduate of Triton High School in Erwin North Carolina. He attended Wingate University in Wingate, North Carolina, where he received Bachelor of Arts Degrees in Religious Studies and English in 2012. Mr. Ward received lateral entry teaching certification through the TEACH Charlotte Teaching Academy, an organization of The New Teacher Project. He is certified in 7-12 English Language Arts as well as IB MYP Personal Project and IB DP Language & Literature certifications. Most recently he has served as an Elementary Teacher Development coach for the new CMS Teaching Residency in partnership with TNTP. From 2012-2014 he served as a community development intern at The Family Tree, formerly know as Hyaets, Inc., a non-profit organization focused on community development in West Charlotte. Additionally, he has worked on staff with Passport Youth Camps, as Assistant Director. He was named 2014-2015 New Teacher of the year at Harding University High School.

Mr. Ward is a self proclaimed foodie who enjoys checking out the last places to eat. In his free time he enjoys traveling to new places. He has a eye for photography, and loves a good concert, art-walk, or poetry slam. He is passionate about social justice issues and values his time with students at West Charlotte.
